What is Vedic Meditation?

Vedic Meditation is a modern rendition of a highly effective transcendent and mantra-based technique that’s been practised in India for thousands of years. This technique has proven to be an incredible stress management tool as it induces very deep relaxation. By Catchlove teaches the technique over a 3-day intensive Meditation course.

How to Meditate:

When meditating with this technique, we sit for 15-20 minutes, ideally twice a day using our personal mantra in a particular way that allows the body to settle down into a state of deep rest (3-5 times deeper than sleep). In doing so, we de-excite our nervous system, allowing stress, tension and fatigue to gently lift from the body. There's no 'stopping thinking' or 'banishing thoughts', which is welcome news to most new meditators. The mantra is the vehicle to transcendence. Over time, we experience greater levels of happiness, contentment, creativity, vibrant health and joy.

The practice requires nothing other than you. No pretzel positions. No apps. No fluff. All you need is a comfortable seated position and 20 minutes, ideally twice a day.

Absolutely anyone can learn Vedic Meditation, even those who think their minds are just ‘too busy’ to be able to mediate. With the correct instruction, you will be well on your way to greater clarity, increased creativity and productivity and a happier more stabilised state of being.

Why Meditate?

Are you the person who is flicking between 14 tabs on your computer browser, whilst ALSO emailing AND scrolling your phone ALL at the same time? Welcome to modern day living. We are a mentally fatigued nation. Our brains are being bombarded with an overwhelming amount of constant stimulus like never before. Even the constant ‘bing’ of texts and emails on our phone can trigger our body’s fight/flight response.

We are of the firm belief that all meditation will produce positive effects, but not all meditation is created equal. Vedic Meditation is a unique technique in that it is steeped in ancient wisdom and yet has been completely designed for our fast-paced modern lives (yes, it can even help you 60+ hour a week workers). It is the simplest most effective way to alleviate stress and cope with the pressures of modern day living. Quite simply, it just works.

Who has time to sit cross-legged for hours on end, trying to ‘stop thinking’? We certainly don’t. In fact the idea of even trying to tame the ‘monkey mind’ actually makes us squirm.
